30th Annual Video Awards Program

On May 3, 2022, students from schools throughout the district will gather at Victory Church in Lakeland to celebrate Polk County’s version of the Academy Awards. The 30th annual Video Awards Ceremony will be a star-studded gala at which PCPS will honor the best in student television production.

The ceremony consists of two programs. At 5 p.m. we will honor all of our elementary schools, and at approximately 7 p.m. we will celebrate the success of our middle and high schools.

All TV production teams as well as their teachers, administrators and parents are welcome to attend and participate in the celebration. The public may also watch the programs live on YouTube and PCPStv.

Entries in ten exciting categories were judged based on recognized television production standards. While technical merit (sound, lighting, editing, etc.) is very important, a strong emphasis is also placed on creativity. One school may enjoy an equipment or facility advantage over another, but people are creative, not equipment.

Honorees for television production student of the year will also be recognized for being leaders in their classes. Students honored by their schools will be presented with medallions and certificates and will assist in the distribution of category awards during the ceremony.
