The application period for PCPS’ Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program starts on Monday, March 2.
VPK prepares children to be ready for school. The structured learning provided in VPK fosters children’s ability to be attentive and to follow directions — skills that will be needed for later success in school and life.
To be eligible, your child must be a Florida resident and 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2020. A child’s birth certificate and proof of residency are required.
You must also obtain and print out your child’s VPK Certificate of Eligibility by visiting the Early Learning Coalition of Polk County’s website at elcpolk.org/parents/vpk or by calling 863-577-2450.
VPK applications cannot be submitted electronically at this time. Applications must be submitted in person at the Polk County Public Schools Woodlake Center, 3425 New Jersey Road in Lakeland.
Beginning Monday, applications can be obtained at the Woodlake Center or by e-mailing email@example.com.
The office is typically open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., but it will open early on Monday at 7:30 a.m.
Enrollment is limited at PCPS VPK sites throughout the county. Please see polkschoolsfl.com/vpk for complete details or call 863-648-3051 for assistance.
