You might notice more butterflies flitting around our campuses this month.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we’re celebrating with a series of artworks created by students from Harrison School for the Arts. They’re now on display at schools throughout the district, so that each campus can have its own “butterfly garden.”
PCPS provides mental health support to all schools through the work of our counselors, psychologists, social workers and mental health facilitators. Everyone needs help sometimes, and we encourage students and families to reach out whenever they need assistance.
A special thanks to our artists from Harrison: Marina Barrientos, Sydney DeVoe, Jada Girgis, Arianna Kerr and Anne Marie Norman. They produced the winning selections for this campaign, and nearly 50 total entries by Harrison students are currently on display in the school’s main gallery. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
This effort was also made possible by the staff from our Behavior and Mental Health team.
