Polk County Public Schools’ volunteer fee will remain at $25 through the 2019-20 school year.
School Board members have decided to maintain the current $25 application fee for volunteers.
Last school year, PCPS began using more extensive volunteer background checks as part of our security measures to protect students and staff. The district is incurring an additional charge for the statewide and national background checks; the screening process also includes Social Security number verification, address verification, multiple names/alias check, and a terror watch list check.
PCPS will use sponsorships and district funds to cover the costs of the additional screening procedures. PCPS will also seek new sponsorship opportunities in an effort to keep costs low for our volunteers.
