PCPS families will continue to have in-person and online education options when the spring semester begins in January.
A recent order from the Florida Department of Education granted the state’s school districts the ability to continue serving students through traditional on-campus classes, as well as online/distance learning programs. Read more at this link.
Accordingly, PCPS intends to maintain our Campus Learning and Campus eSchool (online) programs for the spring 2021 semester, which formally begins on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
PCPS and all other school districts are required to submit a Spring 2021 Education Plan for approval to the FLDOE by Tuesday, Dec. 15. We expect to have more details for families once that plan is approved.
If you are satisfied with your current choice of education format (Campus Learning or Campus eSchool), no further action is required for the spring semester. If you would like to make a change for the spring, please contact your school administrator.
Please note that school districts will be required to contact parents of online/distance learning students who are falling behind in their studies, and discuss their options before the spring semester begins.
For more information, please see today’s discussion from the Polk County School Board work session.
