PCPS Students Shine at 2018 National FFA Convention

The Kathleen High team at the 2018 FFA Convention.

Teams from Kathleen and George Jenkins high schools were among the top finishers at the 91st National FFA Convention & Expo last week in Indianapolis.

The Kathleen High team (pictured left) ranked fifth in the nation in the Forestry event, and George Jenkins High (pictured below) finished seventh in Veterinary Science.

In addition, 13 students from our schools earned the American FFA Degree, which is awarded at the National Convention each year to less than one percent of FFA members, making it one of the organization’s highest honors.

Congratulations again to our team winners and American FFA Degree Recipients:

Auburndale High: Chris Anderson, Austin Benenati, Justin Holmes, Taylor Ladd
Bartow High: Reed Fussell, Todd McGuire, Madison Roberts
Frostproof High: Anna Plair
Haines City High: Jennifer Mizell, Shelby Peterson
Kathleen High: Shelby Carlton
Lake Gibson High: Bristol Wells
Lake Region High: Kaitlynn Coatney
