It’s the holiday season, and at Polk County Public Schools, that means it’s Joy Box time!

Every year, our Social Work Services department gathers donations of toys, clothes, shoes, books and school supplies. Social workers from throughout the district then go “shopping” at our warehouse in Lake Hamilton, creating gift bundles for students they know could use a little extra holiday cheer. This year, the warehouse is brimming with items such as toy trucks, “Frozen” dolls, crayons and action figures.

School social workers will begin delivering gifts to students the week prior to winter break. Thank you, Joy Box donors, for helping this difficult year come to a happy end for PCPS students!
