A couple of important updates from today’s Polk County School Board work session:
– Polk County Public Schools is planning to adjust the 2020-21 calendar, which will move up the last day for students and teachers.
The last day of school for students is expected to be set for June 3. It was originally June 9.
For teachers, the last day of school will be June 4, instead of June 10. Please note that this change will not cause a loss of pay to any employees.
The tentative calendar changes will require formal approval by the school board at an upcoming meeting.
– PCPS recently announced that eSchool (online) students can begin returning to campus on Wednesday, Oct. 28, if they wish (please click here for complete details). To help prevent interruptions in lessons, teachers of eSchool students will be providing assignments for the Monday and Tuesday before students return to campus on Oct. 28.
