During this week’s Polk County School Board work session, board members and district staff discussed our face covering procedures, and clarified that masks are not required during outdoor activities such as physical education and recess.
Yesterday evening, PCPS issued the following message to our principals to be shared with school staff:
“There have been questions and concerns voiced lately regarding face coverings being worn by students during outdoor activities — especially given the warmer weather this time of year.
To provide clarity, face coverings will be optional for students and staff while outdoors for recess, physical education, or other outdoor activities.
Face coverings will still be required while indoors, at least through the end of the school year.”
