You are invited to ESOL Parent Academy, a free event honoring Hispanic Heritage Month and organized by the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) department.
This event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Davenport High, 4525 County Road 547 in Davenport.
Participants will hear from special guest speaker Dolores Huerta, a renowned civil rights activist and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Parents can also attend informational sessions on a variety of topics, including:
- ESOL support and services available to students and their families
- Guidance on how to navigate the education system
- Preparing students to be ready for college and their careers
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

¡Universidad Si Se Puede!
In collaboration with The Florida Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents we are excited to be hosting an ESOL Parent Academy: “!Universidad Si Se Puede!” We look forward to increasing parent and community engagement by connecting, collaborating and providing training, tools and resources that can empower parents to better support their children linguistically, socially, academically and emotionally.
