COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics Available Next Week (Jan. 18-21) for PCPS Students, Staff and Families

Polk County Public Schools is hosting a series of pop-up vaccination clinics next week at high schools throughout the county.

The district is making these clinics available through a partnership with Health Hero Florida, an organization with a state contract to provide vaccines.

IMPORTANT: There is no requirement for PCPS students, employees, or their families to be vaccinated; it is entirely voluntary. Children under 18 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.

Any student, employee, or family member who is eligible for the vaccine or booster can receive it at these clinics free of charge. No appointment is necessary.

Children aged 5 and over are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine. Individuals who receive the Pfizer vaccine will need to receive a second dose. Information about follow-up Pfizer doses is detailed below.

In addition to the Pfizer vaccine, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will also be available to anyone 18 and older.

The clinics will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the following dates/locations:

Tuesday, Jan. 18
• Auburndale High — 1 Bloodhound Trail, Auburndale
• Summerlin Academy — 1500 S. Jackson Ave., Bartow
• Davenport High — 4525 CR 547 North, Davenport
• Fort Meade Middle Senior — 700 Edgewood Dr. N., Fort Meade

Wednesday, Jan. 19
• Lakeland High — 726 Hollingsworth Road, Lakeland
• George Jenkins High — 6000 Lakeland Highlands Road, Lakeland
• Haines City High — 2800 Hornet Drive, Haines City
• Kathleen High — 1100 Red Devil Way, Lakeland

Thursday, Jan. 20
• Lake Region High — 1995 Thunder Road, Eagle Lake
• Lake Wales High — 1 Highlander Way, Lake Wales
• Tenoroc High — 4905 Saddle Creek Road, Lakeland
• Winter Haven High — 600 6th St. SE, Winter Haven

Friday, Jan. 21
• Mulberry High — 1 Panther Place, Mulberry
• Ridgeview Global Studies Academy — 1000 Dunson Road, Davenport
• Frostproof Middle-Senior High — 1000 N. Palm Ave., Frostproof

Again, there is no requirement for PCPS students, employees, or their families to be vaccinated.

Pfizer vaccine follow-up dose:

– Those who received their first dose of Pfizer on Jan. 18 will be scheduled to receive their second dose on Feb. 8.
– Those who received their first dose of Pfizer on Jan. 19 will be scheduled to receive their second dose on Feb. 9.
– Those who received their first dose of Pfizer on Jan. 20 will be scheduled to receive their second dose on Feb. 10.
– Those who received their first dose of Pfizer on Jan. 21 will be scheduled to receive their second dose on Feb. 11.
**NOTE: Individuals who receive the Pfizer vaccine and cannot return on those specific days will be given additional options on when and where to get their second dose.**
