The Florida Department of Health in Polk County will conduct a COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Aug. 17 at Bryant Stadium.
The pop-up vaccination clinic will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the stadium, 1125 N. Florida Ave. in Lakeland.
Polk County Public Schools is partnering with the Department of Health to make this vaccine opportunity available to anyone in the community who wishes to receive it. No appointment is necessary.
NOTE: There is no requirement for PCPS students, employees, or their families to be vaccinated, it is entirely voluntary. However, the CDC and the Department of Health strongly recommend that individuals get vaccinated if they are eligible.
Individuals age 12 and up are eligible to receive the vaccine. Children under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present at the time of the vaccination.
The Pfizer vaccine will be available to those ages 12 and up. The Pfizer vaccine is a two-series shot, meaning two doses are required to become fully vaccinated.
The Moderna vaccine (two-shot series) and Johnson & Johnson vaccine (one-shot series) will also be available to those 18 and older.
Those who select a two-series shot — either Pfizer or Moderna — will be given instructions and options on when and where to get their second dose of the vaccine.
