A meeting will take place tomorrow evening (Nov. 5) to discuss the proposed attendance boundaries for Polk County’s newest public high school, Davenport High.
Tomorrow’s meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at Ridge Community High, 500 Orchid Drive in Davenport.
Davenport High is currently under construction and scheduled to open in August 2021. It will help relieve enrollment at nearby Ridge Community and Haines City high schools. The new high school will offer programs in the fine arts, hospitality and hotel management, technology, computer modeling and gaming.
The public is invited to attend tomorrow’s meeting to see the proposed boundaries for Davenport High, share their thoughts and ask questions. Attendees will be asked to wear masks or face coverings.
Those who do not wish to attend in-person can view the meeting live via Zoom, a video conferencing application. Click here to join the Zoom meeting.
If you are attending virtually, please submit your questions and comments to the following email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
After considering the community’s feedback, an attendance boundary committee will decide whether to make any changes to the proposed attendance boundaries before submitting them to the school board, which is responsible for final approval at a future meeting.
