Changes to Meal Distribution Service Begin Monday, April 13

We’re making changes to our meal distribution service and sites beginning Monday, April 13.

First, please note that meal service will not be available on Friday, April 10, since schools will be closed and staff will not be working.

Beginning Monday, April 13, we will only distribute meals three days per week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Extra food will be provided each day to make sure children’s needs are met.

Distributing meals three days per week will help safeguard our families and employees by requiring fewer trips to pick up food.

Starting Monday, April 13, we also will be making changes to the number and list of sites serving as meal distribution locations.

Please note that PCPS no longer requires that children be present to receive meals. Although we prefer that children are present (to help ensure the meals are going to the right place), it is not required.

If children are not present, please bring their school ID, or be ready to provide their names/schools to PCPS staff. This is necessary for record-keeping purposes.

Families are still welcome to visit any meal distribution site to receive food. This service is available to all Polk County children, including students of public, private and charter schools, and homeschool students.
