Bartow High students are getting some extra help to prepare for life after graduation.
Last week, the school hosted BHS alums from a variety of companies to share their wisdom on how to get ahead in the workforce. With the help of Top Buttons, Bartow High students also took part in a fashion show to model interview-appropriate attire for their peers.
It all came together on Monday, when BHS hosted a job fair with more than 30 employers, and invited area high school students to practice their job skills and see what opportunities await them.
“Sometimes the importance of soft skills in the workplace are overlooked or forgotten about,” said Reba Coil, president of BHS’ Parent Teacher Student Association.
“Our goal as a PTSA this year was to help the school focus on these skills and educate the students on the importance of showing up to work on time, working collaboratively with your co-workers, learning how to manage your time, and dressing appropriately for the workplace.”
