Winter Haven High is off to the races!
We gathered today to celebrate the completion of a major upgrade to WHHS’ Denison Stadium.
The project — made possible by a partnership with the City of Winter Haven — included resurfacing the track, as well as removing the old football field and installing new artificial turf. The effort cost more than $1.8 million.
The upgrades will allow Denison Stadium to host track and field competitions and provide a high-quality venue for other WHHS athletics.
“I’ve had alumni reaching out saying the new field is so beautiful,” said WHHS Principal Gina Williams. “This will be a source of pride for our past, present and future students.”
