Two Polk County Public Schools teachers are being honored for their work in the field of economic education.

Lydia Bennett from Winston Academy of Engineering and Dr. Marcia Berger from Crystal Lake Middle are among this year’s recipients of the Regional Economic Educator & Leadership (REEL) Awards.

Presented by the Florida Council on Economic Education (FCEE), the REEL Awards honor “outstanding teachers across Florida that deliver personal finance and economic education in their classrooms each day.”

The FCEE works in partnership with colleges to recognize the achievements and leadership of local teachers. This year, there are 16 REEL winners in the University of South Florida’s region, which includes PCPS; there are 60 REEL winners statewide.
