When it comes to academics, PCPS student-athletes tackled their objectives and went the extra mile this fall, as proven by our latest GPA Report Card.

The report, produced by PCPS' Athletics department, is based on the average cumulative GPAs of high school students on fall varsity teams (cross country, football, golf, swimming and volleyball). Let's hit the highlights:

  • All 15 of the county's traditional public high schools had unweighted average GPAs above 3.0 for students involved in athletics. Mulberry High led the district with a 3.629 GPA. Nice work, Panthers!
  • An impressive 84% of our individual fall sports teams had GPAs above 3.0. Winning!
  • Fort Meade High's boys cross country team had the highest overall GPA, at 3.933, followed by the Auburndale High girls cross country team, with 3.900. Intelligence and endurance!

“PCPS is known for our outstanding athletic programs, but this latest report card shows that our student-athletes are just as talented in the classroom,” said Dan Talbot, the district's athletics director. “Congratulations to our students, and their teachers, for another winning fall season on and off the field.”

PCPS will compile two more GPA Report Cards for the winter and spring, with the ultimate 2021-22 champions announced at the end of the school year.
