Let’s shine a light on some outstanding students!

Congratulations to our Sunshine State Scholars for 2024: Sahil Ande from International Baccalaureate Bartow, Jason Bueno Iduyan from Winter Haven High, and Juan Quintero from Frostproof High.

Every year, Florida’s school districts select their top high school juniors in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) for the Sunshine State Scholars program. Each student, along with their parents, will be invited to travel to Orlando in May to meet with other Sunshine State Scholars, connect with employers in STEM fields, and learn about their higher education options in Florida.

“Being named a Sunshine State Scholar is an important honor, given to some of our best and brightest students every year,” said Jeff Hancock, PCPS’ senior director of K-12 science. “This is a very impressive group, by every measure.”
