Five students from International Baccalaureate Bartow have been announced as National Merit Scholarship winners.
Congratulations to Johnathan Marocco, Abraham Medina, Mohan Nakka, Melissa Thomas and Kim-Linh Vo.
The five IB Bartow graduates are among 2,900 National Merit winners receiving scholarships financed by U.S. colleges and universities. Each award is worth up to $2,000 annually at the institution financing the scholarship. All five IB Bartow students received their National Merit Scholarships from the University of Florida.
PCPS now has six National Merit recipients this year. IB Bartow’s Nicholas Kieffer was among the winners announced in May. Additional winners will be announced next month.
The prestigious National Merit Scholarships are awarded to distinguished high school seniors with “outstanding” academic records. Applicants are also evaluated on their test performance, awards, leadership positions and extracurricular activities.
