Eight PCPS Schools Receive PBIS Awards
Posted on 11/14/2023

Here’s some positive news: Eight PCPS schools earned Model School status last year from the Florida Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Project!

The PBIS initiative promotes good behavior, student success, and positive, safe environments through a multi-tiered system implemented by schools. Model Schools are those that use PBIS practices at a high level and meet discipline goals, serving as examples for other schools.

Congratulations to our PBIS Model Schools for 2022-23:

  • Platinum: Jean O’Dell Learning Center
  • Silver: Bella Citta, Willow Oak School
  • Bronze: Brigham Academy, Lincoln Avenue Academy, R. Bruce Wagner Elementary, Valleyview Elementary, Winston Academy

“We would like to thank all of our PBIS schools for their hard work and dedication to creating engaging and safe environments that promote positive behavior,” said Lydia Roberts, who oversees PBIS programs for PCPS. “It’s always our goal to create systems that support the whole child, which is evident by the number of active PBIS schools in our district.”
