We have a few more grads to celebrate!
Congratulations to this outstanding group of PCPS educators, who just completed the High Impact Teacher Corps (HITC) program through the Florida Department of Education.
The HITC program gathers teachers from around the state who have a successful track record serving at “turnaround” schools (schools with low grades that are designated for improvement). The HITC teachers spend a year participating in leadership and professional development sessions; as a result, they learn new skills and strategies to benefit their own students, and become mentors to other educators.
“Anyone can become a teacher. It takes dedication, hard work, pride and passion to be a great one,” said Rachel Chase, a reading coach at Griffin Elementary who just completed the HITC program.
“I feel like I've grown as a teacher and a leader; my capacity to coach others has grown immensely,” Chase said. “I am so thankful for this amazing opportunity … now it's time to take what we've learned and pay it forward.”
