Lakeland Senior High Graduate,
Thomas Bryant, a lawyer, state legislator and Lakeland civic leader who secured funding for road and government building projects including the Lakeland stadium that bears his name. As a student at Lakeland High in 1907, he helped to organize the school's first football team. Also named for him is the Thomas W. Bryant Space Sciences Building on the University of Florida campus.
