Colonel Edythe Turner, chief nurse of the 306th General Hospital in World War II and Denver's Fitzsimmons Army Hospital, Tripler Hospital in Hawaii and Brooker Army Hospital in Texas. One of the first women to achieve the rank of colonel in the U.S. Army. Prior to her military career, she held managerial and supervisory positions at Atlanta's St. Joseph's Hospital.
