Burke Kibler received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart during World War II. After serving his country, he completed his college education and eventually earned a law degree. General counsel of the Florida Citrus Commission, the Florida Phosphate Council, the Florida World's Fair Authority and the Florida House of Representatives. Chairman of both the Florida Council of 100 Task Force on Higher Education and the Council of 100 Business/Higher Education Partnership. Also was Chairman of Florida's Board of Regents.
