Winter Haven Senior High Graduate,
Bill Duncan, long-time Polk County educator. Principal of Winter Haven and Lake Wales high schools and served as an administrator in the superintendent's office. Known as 'the father of discipline' in Polk County Schools. He retired in 1992, the same year that the Polk Opportunity Center was renamed the Bill Duncan Opportunity Center.
