We were in Winter Haven today to see the tilt walls go up at Elbert Elementary.
Elbert is undergoing a complete modernization that will essentially result in a brand new school. Students and staff have been temporarily relocated nearby to the Scenic Terrance campus in Haines City, but will return to Elbert after the 2024-25 school year. At that point, Scenic Terrace will become a traditional K-8 zoned public school.
Elbert is the latest modernization project for PCPS, following similar efforts at Mulberry High, Bartow High, Garner Academy and Southwest Middle. These projects are made possible by impact fees and our district’s half-cent sales tax, which voters renewed in 2018.
