Driving a school bus for 50 years? Shirley that can’t be possible!
But it’s true: Driver Shirley Walling has been with PCPS for an amazing half-century.
Shirley was honored yesterday during the Youth and Adult Leadership graduation ceremony hosted by the Northeast Polk Chamber of Commerce. Incredibly, this was not a retirement celebration; we’re told that Shirley has no plans to park the bus just yet.
“We just wanted to recognize her years of service,” said Chrystal Robinson, a training specialist with PCPS’ Transportation department. “Shirley has a great smile and personality. She’s outgoing and well-rounded, she makes the best out of any situation. She’s amazing.”
