Nicholas Kieffer from International Baccalaureate Bartow is our first National Merit Scholarship winner for 2024.
Kieffer was one of 2,500 winners announced today by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), out of a pool of more than 15,000 finalists nationwide. Each will receive $2,500.
The winners were “judged to have the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills and potential for success in rigorous college studies,” according to NMSC.
The recipients are selected by a committee of college admissions officers and high school counselors, who review students’ academics, test performance and contributions to their schools and communities.
Additional National Merit winners will be announced in June and July. Five PCPS students received the prestigious scholarships in 2023.
