“Love the Bus” Month: Meet Shemika Davis

February is Love the Bus Month, a monthlong celebration created by the American School Bus Council to honor the contributions of drivers, attendants and all transportation personnel to public education.

This is a chance to get to know some of PCPS’ outstanding transportation employees; we’ll be introducing them to you all month long!

Thank you, PCPS transportation employees, for all you do to put Students First!

Profile: Shemika Davis, PCPS bus attendant

Shemika Davis is a mother of seven who has spent her whole life serving children.

Prior to becoming a PCPS bus attendant, she worked in nursing and for the Department of Children and Families. Becoming a bus attendant has provided her with a new way to make a difference for little ones.

She knows each of her students and listens attentively as they describe their day. Often, students — and even their parents — just need someone to listen and make them feel special. Whether it’s helping to celebrate a good report card or being a listening ear during times of stress, Shemika is always ready to provide whatever her students need.

Thank you, Shemika!
