Dr. G. Leonard Tyler Jr. worked on the NASA Apollo projects and Mariner probes that orbited Mars. One of his roles included selection of the Viking spacecraft landing site on Mars. Stanford University professor and recipient of three NASA medals for Exceptional Scientific Achievement.
