Curtis Peterson was a state senator and public education advocate during his legislature tenure. Sponsored the RAISE act (Raise Achievement in Secondary Education) to improve public education. Named by colleagues as Most Effective Senator in 1981. Also was Florida Nurseryman of the Year and president of the Florida Nursery and Growers Association.
