Janice Ahl, a science teacher for more than 20 years at Lake Wales High, she was known as the First Lady of Lake Wales. She authored a book 'Crown Jewel Of the Highlands: Lake Wales, Florida. Was charter member of Presbyterian Church of Lake Wales, Lake Wales Historic Society and Lake Wales Museum and Culture Center. She was interviewed numerous times by national media on her historical knowledge of Lake Wales and considered the authority on the legend of Spook Hill.
