First-Generation College-Bound Seniors From Lake Gibson High Receive New Laptops

A group of first-generation college-bound seniors from Lake Gibson High have some new technology to assist their future pursuits.

Coca-Cola Beverages Florida (Coke Florida) partnered with Family Dollar to donate five new laptops to the LGHS seniors. Next year, each student will become the first in their family to attend college. Congratulations to:

– Ke'Shante Childress (Traviss Technical College, culinary arts and hospitality)

– Gatlin Folds (Polk State College, radiography)

– Kyanalee Rivera, (Polk State College, registered nursing)

– Serenity Smith (The Savannah College of Art and Design, fashion design)

– Myles Stewart (University of Central Florida)

LGHS staff said the new computers will help the chosen students to be college- and career-ready.

The laptop donation is part of a broader Coke Florida initiative (celebrating Black History Month) to donate $100,000 in technology to local schools and nonprofit organizations.

A big thanks to Coke Florida and Family Dollar for supporting these hardworking LGHS Braves!
