Lakeland Senior High Attendee,

Frances Langford, vaudeville singer and radio star in the 1930s. In the 1940s her career took off as a singer and actress working with Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong, Jackie Gleason, Perry Como and Don Ameche. During World War II she toured with Bob Hope's U.S.O. group entertaining troops. During the Korean War, she toured military camps writing newspaper articles about her experiences. The articles were the basis for a movie, “Purple Heart Diaries.”
