Comedian and musician Jim Stafford had a series of novelty Top Ten songs in the 1970s including “Spiders and Snake,” a song selling more than 1 million copies. Other hits included “Swamp Witch” and “Your Bulldog Drinks Champagne.” Head writer for the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour and later hosted his own network television variety show from Hollywood. In 1990, he founded the Jim Stafford Theatre entertainment venue in Branson, Missouri.
