Judge Ronald A. Herring was elected a county judge in 1988 and served until 1993. He was elected to the Tenth Judicial Circuit in 1994 and named Chief Judge of the Circuit Court in 2003. His honors include recognition from organizations that include: Civitan Club, Florida Council on Crime & Delinquency, Fraternal Order of Police, Polk County Drug Court, Polk County Family Lawyer's Association, Polk Community College, Rotary, Peace River Center and Sons of the American Revolution.
