Congressman Adam Putnam was elected to Congress on November 7, 2000 at the age of 26. He has served as Chairman of the House Republican Conference and on the Capital Markets, Insurance and Government Sponsored Enterprises Subcommittee of the House Financial Services Committee. Named by the National Journal in 2003 as a "Republican to Watch" and in 2004 was named one of National Journal's Homeland Security 100 - the top 100 key government officials and outside experts. Congressman Putnam also received the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Spirit of Enterprise Award, the 60 Plus Association Guardian of Seniors Rights Award and the Americans for Tax Reform Hero of Taxpayer Award.
