Polk County Public Schools is hosting the School Choice Showcase to spotlight the exciting educational programs available to students!

This series of regional showcases will help families explore all of the options available to them, and coincides with the school choice application window for the upcoming 2024-25 school year.

The application window is an opportunity for families to apply for their students to attend a variety of PCPS programs, including career academies, magnet/choice schools, International Baccalaureate and Cambridge AICE.

Families must submit their applications online via Parent Portal during the application window, which is open from
Jan. 8 to Feb. 16.

All applications are chosen based on a lottery system (with the exception of IB/Cambridge, which have academic requirements).

The School Choice Showcase will take place at locations throughout Polk County. Families can learn more about the school choice options available at the elementary, middle and high schools in their community.

The showcases will be held from 4 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 30 – Advent Health Fieldhouse (210 Cypress Gardens Blvd, Winter Haven)
  • Thursday, Feb. 1 – Bartow Civic Center (2250 S. Floral Ave, Bartow)
  • Tuesday, Feb. 6 – Lake Eva Event Center (799 Johns Ave, Haines City), McLaughlin Academy of Excellence (Lake Wales)
